Faith in everyday decisions

A short, practical way to bring prayer and wise counsel into ordinary choices this week.

Most of our decisions are not dramatic. They are Tuesday decisions: which call to return first, whether to take the project, how to answer a hard email. This guide is a simple rhythm for bringing faith into those moments without turning every choice into a crisis.

Pause before you decide Take one minute to name the decision plainly. Write it in a sentence. A decision you can say clearly is easier to pray about and easier to talk through with someone else.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:5–6, KJV)

Ask three questions - Is this honest? Would I be comfortable if everyone affected could see how I made it? - Is this loving? Does it treat the people involved the way I would want to be treated? - Is this wise? What would someone with more experience than me notice that I am missing?

Get one outside voice Scripture says there is safety in a multitude of counsellors (Proverbs 11:14). For everyday decisions, one trusted voice is usually enough. Text a friend from your table, or bring it to the next gathering.

Decide, then let it rest Once you have prayed, asked and listened, make the call. Peace often comes after the decision, not before it.
